Osram announced that it will withdraw from the production of OLED-based passive matrix LED displays by the end of the year. The company will transfer 270 employees to other businesses within Osram Semiconductors, including its new LED chip factory in Yulu. But its OLED activities will focus on developing lighting solutions that are ready to go public.
Two weeks ago, OSRAM started construction at the new LED factory in Yuyu, which will create about 800 jobs.
