Luminus Devices announced the launch of its new PhlatLightTM chipset designed for small microdisplays, including high-bright pocket projectors, smart projection displays, and general lighting applications. The new PhlatLightTM chipset includes individually packaged red, green and blue LEDs, each 5.4mm2 in size. When the three chips are combined, the chipset can generate white light with a peak luminous flux of 1400 lm in the pulse mode.
Luminus says its innovations in packaging, thermal management and optical coupling bring a truly diverse product portfolio that makes solid-state lighting sources into applications that were previously impossible. The PT54 is the latest example of the benefits of these innovations, allowing customers to achieve very efficient light engine designs and produce high screen brightness.
Luminus' PhlatLight LED technology is setting the new brightness standard for pocket projectors, which is 10 times brighter than traditional LEDs. Other advantages do not require warm-up time for instant-on, wide color gamut and digital power management to optimize battery life and brightness. In addition, its average life span exceeds 12,000 hours, which is significantly longer than the life of arc lamps.
