Jing Energy and Power Development Minister Mangma agreed to introduce a policy prohibiting the use of incandescent lamps, and said that the bidding for 5 million energy-saving lamps will be carried out two weeks later.
The Jin Power Supply Bureau estimates that investing $7 million to promote the use of energy-saving lamps can save 150,000 kilowatts of electricity, equivalent to about $500,000 per 10,000 kilowatts, while the actual investment in power plants per megawatt is about $30 million.
The bureau also said that regional cooperation needs to be strengthened on this issue. At present, the SADC countries have reached a consensus, and all countries in the region will soon introduce relevant policies.

The Zimbabwe Power Supply Bureau said that in order to alleviate the current power shortage crisis, the Ministry of Energy and Power Development is lobbying for the policy of prohibiting the use of incandescent lamps and promoting the use of energy-efficient lamps with higher efficiency.
