The Carbon Trust said that if OLEDs are used instead of all modern luminaires, global carbon emissions can be reduced by 2.5 million tons by 2020 and by 7.4 million tons by 2050. If all the old incandescent bulbs are replaced, the carbon reductions can be reduced even more.
