According to reports, Australia has stipulated that newly purchased water heaters can only be solar, air and natural gas products, and prohibit the purchase of electric water heaters. Japan, the United States and other countries are adopting financial subsidies to encourage the purchase of air-powered water heaters, thereby accelerating the elimination of electric water heaters.

Electric water heaters have poor prospects in China. Cai Ning, director of the Home Appliances Division of China Household Electrical Appliances Research Institute, predicts that electric water heaters will have a market in the short term, but in the long run, electric water heaters will gradually be replaced by other energy-saving products.

Li Huizhen, head of Wanhe New Electric Brand Management Department, said that electric water heaters will eventually be eliminated in the market. "Gas is a clean energy source. The use of gas-fired water heaters and other gas equipment can significantly ease the pressure on residents' electricity and industrial electricity. Wanhe has locked in smarter gas."

According to Jiang Liangyun, sales director of Beijing Haier Industry & Trade Co., Ltd., electric water heaters may withdraw from the historical stage within a few years. The future water heater market will be dominated by new energy water heaters, such as gas water heaters, solar water heaters, and air energy water heaters.
