Announcement on the release of the industry standard "Design Specification for Urban Night Lighting"

The “City Night Lighting Design Code” is now approved as the industry standard, numbered JGJ/T 163-2008, which will be implemented from May 1, 2009.

This specification is published by China Construction Industry Press, organized by the Institute of Standards and Ratings.

Foreword

According to the requirements of the Ministry of Construction's "Notice on Printing and Distributing" (Jianbiao [2004] No. 66), the preparatory group conducted in-depth survey and analysis of a large number of night lighting projects and normative documents at home and abroad, and carefully summarized practical experience. This specification has been developed on the basis of extensive solicitation of opinions.

The main technical contents of this code: general rules, terminology, basic regulations, lighting evaluation indicators, lighting design, lighting energy saving, light pollution restrictions, lighting power supply and distribution and security.

This Code is managed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
