Ceiba-2 submarine cable system is put into use, utilizing Huawei Marine's WDM and OTN technologies

According to the Ghana Business Weekly, Guinea Telecom Infrastructure Corporation (GITGE), which represents the government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea to manage the country's fiber infrastructure, announced the official launch of the Ceiba-2 submarine cable system.

According to reports, the submarine cable system utilizes Huawei Ocean Corporation's wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) and optical transmission network (OTN) technologies, with a total length of 290 kilometers and an initial design capacity of 4Tbps, connecting the capital Malabo to the mainland's Bata. And built a branch line connecting Cameroon to Camby.

Not only that, the connection through Kribi will enable Equatorial Guinea to connect to other submarine cable systems, including WACS, SAT-3 and Main One.

Not only that, the Ceiba-2 submarine cable will also provide a backup network for Ceiba-1 (the direct connection between Malabo and Bata) and the African Coast to Europe (ACE) submarine cable connection to Bata.
